I'm working in a software development company that provides various software services to different industries. One of their primary services is fantasy sports application development. They also offer other standard services like Android, iOS, hybrid, React, and Flutter, as well as Node.js development. Their main source of income is fantasy app development, based on my understanding. As a digital marketer, I have to work on their website (internal linking, keyword optimization, backlink creation, and guest posting) to improve visibility (ranking) in Google. I went and told them that I wouldn't work on the fantasy service pages; rather, I can work on other services, and they agreed. Now, if I create backlinks for non-fantasy service pages, it will somehow add value to the whole domain, which also includes the fantasy service page. I'm in a state of confusion about whether my work and salary are halal or haram. What is the ruling for me?

اَلجَوَابْ بِاسْمِ مُلْہِمِ الصَّوَابْ

Fantasy sports involve selecting a team of real players and earning points based on their performance. This activity is considered a form of gambling, which is deemed haram in Sharia rulings. In a job where one has to engage in activities that support gambling, that job is considered impermissible and could be seen as contributing to a haram business.

While working on non-fantasy service pages is permissible(jaiz), since the company primarily deals in fantasy sports, which is associated with gambling, it is better to avoid working there. It would be preferable to seek employment in another company that aligns more closely with halal practices
