Question: My name is shahid zaman. I am s software engineer by profession. I want to ask whether buying a house and car using Islamic banking available in Pakistan for example Meezan bank is permissible and halal.

 I am considering to buy and want to make sure I am not committing haram.

اَلجَوَابْ بِاسْمِ مُلْہِمِ الصَّوَابْ

Banks operating under the supervision of authentic qualified scholars such as Meezan Bank, BankIslami, can be used for buying or building a house through the house finance method of these banks, in the same way a car can be purchased according to the procedure of car ijarah.

According to sharia, there is nothing wrong in dealing with such Islamic banks or Islamic branches/Islamic windows of other conventional banks which are regularly run under the supervision of qualified Ulama.
